New Site Security

SSL

Your Security is Important to Us!

Living in the digital age offers many advantages, however with all these advantages comes risk, especially when it comes to your personal information. SSL provides secure, encrypted communications between our website and your internet browser. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, the protocol which provides the encryption.

The primary reason why SSL is used is to keep sensitive information sent across the Internet encrypted so that only the intended recipient can understand it. This is important because the information you send on the Internet is passed from computer to computer to get to the destination server. Any computer in between you and the server can see your credit card numbers, usernames and passwords, and other sensitive information if it is not encrypted with an SSL certificate. When an SSL certificate is used, the information becomes unreadable to everyone except for the server you are sending the information to. This protects it from hackers and identity thieves.

Microblading is the hottest new trend taking the beauty industry by storm.

Brow Microblading

Microblading can transform your face, by creating your eyebrows strand-by-strand, for the most natural-looking 3D-like results; perfectly filled-in, and balanced. The eyebrow shape & color is custom-made to your facial structure.

Microblading, also known as Eyebrow Embroidery and/or Eyebrow Feathering, is a form of Permanent Makeup, Soft Tap Technique or Japanese Method Makeup which is implemented using a handheld tool comprised of between 6-14 micro needles in the shape of a blade, hence the name Microblade.

This technique is performed without using a machine. Pigment is collected with the Microblades, which is attached to a handheld device, and then deposited into the epidermis. This technique gives the appearance of extremely fine, crisp and natural looking hair strokes that last up to 2 years.

Microblading is a gentler alternative to Permanent Makeup due to the fact that it does not penetrate the Dermis Layer of the skin. The color is implanted closer to the surface of the skin and the applied hair strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no “spilling” of ink/ pigment under the skin, and the effects last up to 18 months, after which the pigment fades and leaves the skin. This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of his or her eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. People suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania or any other conditions that causes hair loss benefit greatly from Microblading, as well as those who simply aren’t happy with their brows.

The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow color, and if the eyebrows are still present, will blend perfectly into your natural brows. The results are a realistic, flawless, fuller looking brow.

Pigments during Definition Brows Microblading are not implanted as deep into the skin as a traditional tattoo, or even micropigmentation with an electric permanent makeup device. This allows for healed results of very fine, thin, and crisp hair lines, however, results do not last as long as traditional methods. A color boost is required usually between 12-18 months. A touch-up may be required at 12 months or sooner for oily-skinned clients, those who tan often, or or often expose brow area to certain chemicals (facial peels, chlorine, anti-aging products, etc.). Pigment retention varies depending on skin type, age, aftercare, immune system, medications, certain chemicals, and the type of pigment used.

Who benefits from Microblading?

  • People who don’t want to spend their time applying makeup
  • People who need to look good every day for work and are expected to maintain a certain level of grooming
  • People who enjoy sports, swimming and the beach
  • Those suffering from alopecia and hair loss from medical treatment
  • Those who suffer bad eyesight who have trouble applying makeup
  • Those who just don’t like the ‘made-up’ look and want to look great in no time
  • Those who are always in a rush and feel that applying makeup is a luxury they just don’t have time for! In short, just about everyone!

Winter is upon us!

This winter is predicted to be milder than average, but winter is still winter and, in New York, that means cold air and dry, cracked skin. So what can you do about it?

Cold outdoor air is not always the culprit, indoors, we’re cranking up the heat to keep warm, which can lead to an evaporative effect that can dry the skin further. Remaining properly hydrated is critical. We tend to forget about this when it’s not hot outside, but keeping the body hydrated keeps the skin hydrated as well.

Here are some tips to help you through the winter:

We tend to start adding to the problem first thing in the morning by hopping in a hot shower. That may feel good at first, but immediately, when you step out into the cooler air, it draws more moisture out of the skin and adds to the problem. So, turn down the heat.

The other thing we do wrong is rub the towel across our skin to dry off. Not only does the rubbing action itself further irritate dry skin, but again you’re removing more moisture. Always smooth lotion on damp skin. You've heard it before, but did you know you have a three-minute window for best results? Wait any longer and moisture starts to disappear from skin before you can lock it in.

Milk does a body good—the natural fats and lactic acid in milk can soften skin, lightly exfoliate, and abate irritation. Draw yourself a nourishing bath by adding two cups of skim milk to warm—not hot—water. Soak for about 15 minutes, pat skin dry, and apply moisturizer...remember the 3 minute rule!

Want to mix up the routine a bit? Wash your face once a week with Greek yogurt. It sounds weird, but the lactic acid works as a gentle, non-abrasive exfoliator. For a moisturizing face mask, take a look in the kitchen before heading down the beauty aisle: Bananas, avocado, egg yolk, and milk can all make great moisturizing face treatments.
